Project Update: Structural Alterations Underway at 1 Exchange Street, Blackburn

JCA Consulting is pleased to be supporting Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council. With the transformation of 1 Exchange Street, the future home of Making Rooms.

Structural alterations are now underway as works on site proceed nicely.

Acting in our role as Quantity Surveyor and Contract Administrator. We are currently overseeing the structural alteration works now well underway on site. The project involves the demolition, alteration and refurbishment of the existing basement and ground floor areas. Alongside the construction of a new third floor with external roof terraces. The scheme also includes the installation of a new platform lift to serve all levels, together with comprehensive mechanical and electrical upgrades and essential remedial works.

Working alongside KPP Architects, Orbis Building Services Consultants Ltd and the wider consultant team, the development will create an exciting, modernised space to support creativity and community use in the town centre.

It’s great to see progress being made on site, with the structural alterations marking a key milestone in bringing the vision for Making Rooms to life.
