Ravenscliffe is a premium serviced office development located within a landmark Victorian-built, Georgian-style building in Newcastle-under-Lyme. Designed to serve the modern, hybrid workforce. Ravenscliffe offers serviced offices, virtual offices, coworking space, meeting rooms and a hireable event space. All within a setting that balances historic character with contemporary business needs.

JCA Consulting were appointed at the very earliest stage of the project. Initially undertaking a commercial building survey prior to Alastair Machin’s purchase of the property. Following acquisition, JCA continued to support the transformation of the building into the high-quality serviced office destination it is today, combining heritage character with modern business capability.

Our Interior Design Director worked closely with the client to develop the internal design vision. Ensuring the building’s architectural integrity was respected while delivering professional, flexible and welcoming spaces suited to the modern hybrid workforce.

Work Involved

• Developing an initial digital mood board to establish the design direction, including style references, colour palettes, sketches and material suggestions.
• Providing links to suggested procurement items to support the client’s decision-making and implementation.
• Collaborating closely with the client team to shape the interior identity of Ravenscliffe and key spaces such as the Minton Lounge.
• Designing interiors that respect and enhance the building’s historic features, including ornate cornicing, architectural detailing and the sweeping central staircase.
• Integrating modern furniture, finishes and layouts to support flexible working, meetings and events.
• Sourcing bespoke artwork for a feature wall, including a commissioned canvas piece by Tom Edwards.

The completed interior design for Ravenscliffe delivers a refined, character-led workspace that redefines serviced offices in Staffordshire. Spaces such as the Minton Lounge provide a private members’ environment where business can be conducted in comfort and style — whether hosting meetings, working between engagements or networking over coffee.
