NORTHERN GATEWAY- PUMPING STATION WET WELL NEARS COMPLETION

MAW are acting as Project Managers, Employers Agents and Quantity Surveyors on behalf of Pochin Goodman. To deliver new infrastructure to provide development plots for residential and industrial uses at the former Airfield site at Northern Gateway, Garden City Deeside.

Phase 1 of the infrastructure development is well progressed with completion expected in 4th Qtr 2022. At that stage the residential plots will be released to housing developers who are to begin the construction of over 700 new homes.

One of the challenges of the project is the foul water drainage strategy. The land is “pancake” flat and as such foul drainage has to be pumped. The infrastructure contractor namely PP O’Connor are significantly progressed with the construction of a 9m diameter pumping station wet well which will serve the development.

Other works ongoing includes significant earthworks, 800m of new spine road with supporting drainage and utility infrastructure.
