Northampton General Hospital, Shell Works Practical Completion

Practical Completion was achieved in June 2021 for the £4.36 million main entrance and retail unit shell works. The works involved the diverting of an existing access road complete with services and drainage diversions. this is to create the space to construct the new entrance modular units. Seddon Construction Ltd were Principal Contractors and Catfoss constructed the modular units to shell standard. An additional 22 space car park was created on a spare piece of land to help ease the hospital parking congestion.

At the end of the Seddon Construction works at NGH the new entrance and retail units were fit-out by Restaurant Design Associates Ltd in a separate £1.36 million fit-out contract. This involved a £60,000 client variation for a sprinkler mist system. The works involved the Construction of an M&S Food, Costa Coffee, Subway and Stock Shop. With a sweeping curved entrance leading to a new main Hospital Reception desk and on into the main hospital.
