The second quarter of 2026 has been another busy and productive period for JCA Consulting. Over the past three months, we have continued to support clients across a diverse range of sectors throughout the UK, helping to deliver projects of all sizes while providing trusted professional advice at every stage of the property lifecycle.
One of the highlights of the quarter has been our involvement in the extension and refurbishment of the St Enodoc Hotel in Rock, Cornwall, for Michelin star chef Paul Ainsworth. Working across both Quantity Surveying and Interior Design, our teams have enjoyed helping to shape this exciting hospitality destination as it moves towards completion. With the hotel due to open later this month, we look forward to sharing the finished project in our next quarterly update.
Following a successful completion of Phase 1 at Copeland & Craddock’s industrial and manufacturing facility, we are also delighted to be commencing Phase 2 and continuing our long standing relationship with the client.
Healthcare and residential projects have also reached significant milestones. At Lister Hospital in Yorkshire, we continue to support Noviniti with the delivery of an important healthcare development.
As the Lead Consultant, at Plevna Crescent in London, our 119 home residential scheme. We successfully co-ordinated the precontract services, secured Homes England funding and progressed through Gateway 2. We are now looking forward to seeing construction begin.
Elsewhere, our Building Surveying teams have remained active across the country, from Cornwall to Scotland. This quarter has included building fabric surveys, the successful conclusion of a high value dilapidations claim and a number of refurbishment projects at Millennium Point in Birmingham.
We have continued supporting Ace Padel as the business expands across multiple locations throughout the UK.
Our education and specialist sectors have remained equally busy. We are continuing to support Hopedale Children and Family Services as they explore potential new locations to expand their specialist education provision.
Alongside this, we have welcomed several new clients, providing advice on projects ranging from demolition works for an industrial warehouse through to investigations into complex defects affecting a Grade II listed hall.
Our Building Surveyors have also continued to support our nationwide corporate tenant clients with a wide variety of property assessments. This area of the business continues to grow, and we are proud to be adding value across an expanding portfolio.
Creativity has remained a strong theme throughout the quarter. Our Interior Design team are currently working with AMB Insurance on the design of their new premises, while also collaborating with Funicular Productions on an immersive theatre dining experience in London.
Although very different projects, both demonstrate the breadth of our design expertise and the value of combining creative thinking with technical knowledge.
As our project portfolio continues to grow, so does our team. This quarter we were delighted to welcome Mark Kalnins as the newest Director within our Quantity Surveying team, further strengthening our ability to support clients across an increasingly diverse range of commissions.
Away from project work, we were proud to sponsor the Staffordshire Chambers Finest and Future Finest AGM Spring Lunch and successfully completed our annual ISO 9001 external audit.
May also saw the return of UKREiiF in Leeds, providing another excellent opportunity to meet with clients, consultants and industry colleagues. We also enjoyed attending Talbots Law’s annual shooting day, strengthening existing relationships while making several new connections.
These are just a selection of the projects and activities that have kept our teams busy over the last three months. Alongside these highlights, we have continued to advise clients on dilapidations, building surveys, project management appointments and a wide range of professional consultancy commissions across the UK.
As we move into the second half of 2026, we would like to thank our clients, consultants, contractors and professional partners for their continued support. We look forward to sharing more project updates and business news later in the year.
Building Regulations have introduced important new responsibilities for those commissioning commercial construction projects. Alongside the CDM Principal Designer, many projects now also require the appointment of a Building Regulations Principal Designer to ensure compliance throughout the design process.
JCA Consulting is able to undertake both the Building Regulations Principal Designer and CDM Principal Designer roles, providing clients with clear guidance from the earliest stages of a project through to completion. Appointing a competent Principal Designer at the outset is a statutory requirement on applicable projects and helps to reduce the risk of delays, additional costs and compliance issues later in the programme.
