Willowpool – Plot 6 lands

The third of five Willowpool modular homes arrived at the Arbor Living development in Cheshire in August 2021.

The project introduced five modular homes to the existing gated park home development for the over-55s. Arbor Living expanded the choice of properties at Willowpool in response to market demand.

Dan-Wood manufactured the modular homes in Poland before transporting them to the UK by lorry. A specialist Dan-Wood team then assembled each property on site.

Meanwhile, Tom Bagley Groundworks Ltd completed the traditionally constructed elements of the development. These works included the foundations, ground slabs and drainage. The team also installed external services and completed the hard landscaping.

Modular Construction

The modular construction method allowed the main structure of each bungalow to take shape remarkably quickly.

Each bungalow shell comprised nine individual panels. A 40-tonne crane lifted the panels directly from an articulated lorry and positioned them on the prepared foundations.

Importantly, the panels arrived on site with the windows and external doors already installed. This significantly reduced the amount of work required following assembly.

The photograph shows the final external wall panel moving into position. Remarkably, this took place only two hours after the team lifted the first panel from the lorry.

Two further articulated lorries delivered the internal wall panels and roof trusses. They also carried the materials required to complete the remaining construction works.

At the time of the original update, the team expected to complete the bungalow within six weeks of erecting the main structure.
