Queen Alexandra Hospital Portsmouth car park

JCA Consulting was appointed by Noviniti as Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveyor for the Queen Alexandra Hospital Portsmouth car park development.

The £7.20 million project involved the construction of a new 241-space multi-storey car park. The development provided additional parking facilities within the existing hospital estate.

The scheme also included a link bridge from an adjacent ward block. This provided escape facilities from the first floor of the ward through the new car park.

The design incorporated terracotta rainscreen cladding to the car park stair cores. This complemented the fenestration and appearance of the existing hospital buildings.

The project team constructed the new steel and concrete structure on approximately two-thirds of an existing ground-level car park. As a result, the development made effective use of the available space within the operational hospital site.

At the time of the original update, the project team was progressing towards agreeing the contract sum. Construction was then due to follow.

JCA Consulting provided Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveying services throughout the development. Our combined appointment provided Noviniti with commercial and contractual support during the delivery of this significant healthcare infrastructure project.
