JCA Consulting was appointed by Hopedale Children's & Family Services to provide a range of professional surveying and architectural services in connection with the proposed acquisition and redevelopment of the former Maghull Police Station. Following a comprehensive Commercial Survey, our involvement extended into the preparation of planning drawings and design proposals to support a change of use application for the building's future use within the client's educational estate.

Work Involved

• Undertook a comprehensive Commercial Survey of both buildings on the site.
• Assessed the overall condition of the property and identified any significant defects and maintenance considerations.
• Carried out high-level roof inspections using drone and cherry picker access where appropriate.
• Completed a measured building survey to produce accurate existing floor plans.
• Prepared topographical surveys of the external areas to support future design work.
• Produced external elevation drawings for planning purposes.
• Developed planning drawings and design proposals to support a change of use planning application.
• Worked closely with the client to develop proposals that reflected their operational and educational requirements.
