Business Lodge were progressing with the acquisition of Kingsway House, a substantial office building in Widnes, and required a comprehensive understanding of the property’s condition prior to purchase. JCA Consulting were first instructed to undertake a Commercial Acquisition Survey. Incorporating a detailed roof inspection carried out via drone and mobile lift platform to ensure full and safe access to all high-level areas.

Following the issue of our survey report and findings, the client proceeded with the purchase and re-appointed JCA to support the transformation of the building into a modern, flexible business centre. Our scope included the preparation of full design floor plans and elevations, along with detailed scopes of work for a new entrance extension and the refurbishment of the part-ground, first and second floors, including communal areas and gym space. Building Regulations requirements were integrated into all design proposals.

In addition, JCA were instructed to redesign and reconfigure the external car park layout to introduce improved circulation, barriers, loading areas and drop-off points, ensuring safe and efficient site navigation for future users.

Kingsway House has now been fully refurbished and is open to occupiers. The finished Business Lodge centre provides contemporary workspace solutions, including private offices, dedicated desks, co-working zones and virtual office services, all supported by state-of-the-art amenities, high-speed internet, ergonomic furniture, fully equipped meeting rooms, a free on-site gym and high-quality communal coffee points.

• Carrying out a full Commercial Acquisition Survey to advise on condition, risks and suitability for purchase.
