The £4.36 million Northampton General Hospital shell works reached Practical Completion in June 2021. The project created a new main entrance and retail units for the hospital.
The initial works included the diversion of an existing access road. The project team also diverted associated services and drainage. This created the space required for the new modular entrance units.
Seddon Construction Ltd acted as Principal Contractor. Meanwhile, Catfoss constructed the modular units to shell standard.
The project also created a new 22-space car park on an available area of land. This provided additional parking and helped to ease congestion across the hospital site.
Following the shell works, Restaurant Design Associates Ltd delivered a separate £1.36 million fit-out contract.
The fit-out created new M&S Food, Costa Coffee, Subway and Stock Shop units. In addition, a £60,000 client variation introduced a sprinkler mist system.
A sweeping curved entrance formed an important part of the completed design. It guides visitors towards the new main hospital reception and provides a clear route into the hospital.
Noviniti appointed JCA Consulting as Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveyor for the project. Our team provided commercial and contractual support throughout the Northampton General Hospital shell works.
