Construction of a new distribution unit in Oldham continued to progress well, with approximately 50% of the steel frame completed. Cladding works followed closely behind as the building began to take shape.
At the time, the construction industry faced exceptional demand for both steel and cladding. This resulted in longer lead times and significant price increases. Consequently, material availability presented an important programme risk for the project.
The delivery of the structural steel to site therefore marked a significant milestone. It allowed the project team to maintain progress and move forward with the next stages of construction.
At the time of the original update, the team targeted completion for the end of August. In addition, forecast costs remained within the project budget.
JCA Consulting provided Quantity Surveying and Employer’s Agent services for the development. Our team supported the commercial and contractual management of the new distribution unit in Oldham as construction progressed.
